How to watch Spencer's recommended First World War films!
Hi everyone! In episode 60 I recommended three of my favourite First World War films. Here's how you can find them and watch them yourself - and if you've already seen them, let me know what you think in the comments section.
The first film I recommended was Mons (1926). It is available on YouTube, edited to include a modern musical score. https://youtu.be/09FC-geOhuo?si=o6naxo6Y8KDdAz1R
Of course, you can also watch it on mute for the full silent movie experience. Keep your eyes peeled for General Horace Smith-Dorrien's cameo appearance at 55.00!
The second film I recommended is Suspense (1930). This one is obscure but worth seeking out - it's quite unique! You can purchase a viewing of it here: https://www.parkcircus.com/film/117932-Suspense
The third and final film I recommended is The Dawn Patrol (1938). This one was a blockbuster of its day and is available for purchase via Google Play, Amazon Prime and Apple TV. You can watch the original trailer on YouTube to get a flavour of it:Â https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U409HIwikoQ
Enjoy!
